Research Attorney and Lecturer in Law
Amy Emerson received a B.A. with honors from Wells College in 1996, and joint J.D. and M.L.S. degrees with honors from Syracuse University in 1999. Ms. Emerson thereafter practiced as a real estate attorney for eight years in the private sector in both Ithaca and Syracuse, New York. During this time, she became extensively involved with the Fair Housing Council of Central New York, serving on its board of directors and also as Assistant Director. Since 2003, Ms. Emerson has additionally served as adjunct faculty at Ithaca College where she taught real estate law and continues to teach a seminar in legal research. She joined the Cornell Law Library in 2008 as Research Attorney and Lecturer in Law. Here she focuses her research in Foreign and International Law, makes regular contributions to the library’s publications, teaches CLE topics in legal research, and team teaches Advanced Legal Research and Lawyering. Ms. Emerson remains a practicing member of the New York State Bar.
